The Luxury Hotel Stays We’re Looking Forward to in 2024

For 2024, there are many exciting hotel products that either are newly opened or for which the management significantly reinvested in the property. How to choose between all the phenomenal options for luxury hotel stays is the question!

2024 Luxury Hotel Stays: Where We’re Traveling

On that note, I can’t wait to experience the just-reopened Kona Village, A Rosewood Resort, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Now operated under the coveted Rosewood luxury brand, this Hawaii resort icon is finally ready to welcome guests again, 13 years after being destroyed by a tsunami. Rooms (hales) at Kona village include multi-room garden and oceanfront traditional bungalow-style options with oversize lanais and outdoor showers. Kona Village offers five restaurants, four oceanfront pools and a swimmable beach, as well as Rosewood’s Asaya Spa. The magical setting on Kahuwai Bay looks as glorious as ever!

I’m excited about the newly opened Hôtel Le Grand Mazarin in Paris! It’s a 5-star boutique hotel in the Marais with design overseen by Martin Brudnizki. Great location, colorful maximalist décor and eclectic details like the hand-painted mural above the indoor swimming pool. — Sarah Sik

The hotel I would love to visit this summer is the Relais & Chateaux Gardena Grödnerhof in the Dolomites of Italy, containing some of the most beautiful scenery coupled with amazing food and great outdoor activities. — Barbara Weindling

I am looking forward to staying at the Esiweni Luxury Safari Lodge in the Nambiti Reserve in South Africa. This Relais & Chateaux property has individual suites that overlook a beautiful river area. The Nambiti Reserve is home to the region’s greatest concentration of animals, including the Big Five, black rhinos and cheetahs. After a safari drive, you can enjoy amazing cuisine under a star-filled sky. — Melissa Rosdahl

In Turkey this year, we’ll visit the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet in the city’s historic center, walking distance to the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. A former prison, it has a glass-enclosed courtyard restaurant and rooftop lounge with views of town. I’m also looking forward to Yunak Evleri Hotel, an ideal base for exploring Cappadocia. All the rooms in this cave hotel have private patios overlooking the Turkish Mesa. — Kiki Humes

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train is the epitome of classic glamour. From all the different outfits for the train to the food and gazing out the window as the world passes by to the roaring piano parties — it sounds like an amazing experience. That would be my ultimate trip to book, and then a few days on each end of the train journey to top it off! — Jennifer Steen

I’m looking forward to an exciting year of travel in 2024 and have so many wonderful trips planned. Our first family trip in 2024 will be to Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas™. After the busy holidays, work and school schedules, unplugging over the February school break is always needed (especially for our high school senior). The stunning property offers a quieter, undiscovered location near Los Cabos; it has an expansive beach and we’re looking forward to kayaking, snorkeling, surfing, whale watching, deep sea fishing — oh, and of course, a few spa treatments. And it is just 50 minutes away from the busier Los Cabos area, so we certainly will head there as well … the best of both worlds! — Kristen Avini

Staying within my beloved Italy, this year I would like to visit Passalacqua in Lake Como. The area needed a new hotel to shake things up a bit, and this is the sister property of Grand Hotel Tremezzo. I love the beauty of the lake and the beauty of Passalacqua — it has already been rated one of the top 50 hotels in the world. They have a wonderful saying there: “Dolce far niente,” which means “Sweets for nothing.” — Linda Considine

I am looking forward to visiting North Carolina this spring to soak in the mountain air and some quality time with my husband. For adults-only trips like this, the hotel is particularly important since we plan on spending most of our time onsite. We hope to split our time between two amazing properties: High Hampton Resort, owned in partnership with the team behind Blackberry Farm, and Half Mile Farm, a sister property to Old Edwards Inn & Spa. — Cary Walker

The new boutique hotel Violino d’Oro, owned and operated by one of my favorite hoteliers, just opened in Venice. Its 32 rooms are housed in a 17th-century building right alongside the canal. With curated décor (including original handcrafted seminato, a type of Venetian terrazzo flooring) and a fabulous location, it looks to be the perfect gem in busy San Marco. — Susan Robinson

I’m excited to visit the The Boca Raton this year. What stands out at this revamped resort is the large private sandy beach, the luxury accommodations and the way it caters so well to children of all ages. There’s a FlowRider where you can learn to surf and playful kids’ cabanas with themes like princess, mini chef and mermaid. A child’s (and a parent’s) dream! — Mandy Cecchetto

On my wish list for 2024: Oasyhotel in Tuscany. This former hunting lodge, a member of Small Luxury Hotels, is set on more than 2,000 acres of forest land, with a focus on sustainability and outdoor activities. — Natalie Ethridge
