Ciao Bambino! Inc. is governed by the following Privacy Policy.
We collect personal data from clients when they use our services or if you are in touch with us in any way, whether this is directly or indirectly. Examples of the data we collect include:
Some information may be collected automatically about you and the device you use to access our website. For example, we may log your operating system, browser type, referring website, IP address, geographical location, pages you view, and the dates/times when you access the site. We may also collect information about the actions you take when you use the website. We may log information using cookies, which are data files stored on your browser.
We use the personal information we collect to comply with applicable legal requirements, carry out contractual obligations and pursue our legitimate interests, including the provision of services to our clients, as well as the ability to monitor and improve our website. Otherwise, we obtain consent to process personal information.
We also use information collected online through “cookies,” web beacons and other means for legitimate purposes such as improving our clients’ experience with the website, helping us diagnose technical and service problems and gather demographic information about our users.
We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our website and service users. Therefore, we establish customer profiles that are securely stored in our CRM system. We store this data for the purposes of having a reference guide to offer our customized trip planning services.
To the extent permitted by law, we retain personal information we obtain about you as long (1) it is needed for the purposes for which we obtained it, in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Policy, or (2) we have another lawful basis for retaining the data beyond the period for which it is necessary to serve the original purpose for collecting the data.
We may share information with third parties when you authorize us to share information as part of our planning process. Where you make a booking, appropriate personal data will be passed on to the relevant suppliers of your chosen arrangements (such as hotels, villa owners, caretakers, experience providers, cooks, car hire companies, restaurants and lidos) together with any other third party (such as banks and/or credit card companies) who need this information to plan and book the trip. The information may also be provided to government/public authorities such as customs or immigration if required by them, or as required by law.
We may also make personal data available to other companies who provide services on our behalf, such as mailing brochures and marketing material. We only provide third parties with the personal data they require in order to deliver their services.
Additionally, the website may use third-party service providers to service various aspects of the website. Each third-party service provider’s use of your personal information is dictated by their respective privacy policies.
Except when required by law, we will not sell, distribute or reveal your email addresses or other personal information without your consent; however, we may disclose or transfer personal information collected through the website to third parties who acquire all or a portion of our business, which may be the result of a merger, consolidation or purchase of all or a portion of our assets, or in connection with any bankruptcy or reorganization proceeding brought by or against us.
To the extent provided by applicable law, you have the following rights with regard to your personal information: (1) the right to access the information; (2) the right to update, correct, amend, erase or restrict the information; (3) the right to object to the processing of the information; (4) the right to data portability; (5) the right to complain to a supervisory authority and (6) the right to withdraw consent.
California residents may also ask us to provide them with a list of certain categories of personal information that we have disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, and the identity of those third parties.
On the website, you may subscribe to our newsletter, which may be used for advertising purposes. All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click.
Also, this allows the website to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behavior will not be passed on to third parties.
Can you withdraw your consent to our use of your personal data for marketing?
You can withdraw your consent to receiving marketing material or other communications from us, either generally or in any particular way, at any time by e-mailing us at info@ciaobambino.com.
At no time should you submit sensitive personal information to the website. This includes your social security number, information regarding race or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health information, criminal background or trade union memberships. If you elect to submit such information to us, it will be subject to this Privacy Policy.
The website does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 16. If a parent or guardian believes that the website has personally identifiable information of a child under the age of 16 in its database, please contact us immediately at info@ciaobambino.com and we will make our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.
At any time, please contact us at info@ciaobambino.com for questions related to this Privacy Policy.
Ciao Bambino provides its services and products to you subject to the following Terms of Service, which may be updated by us from time to time without notice to you.
Our goal is to offer family travel tips, information, and family travel services.
In order to publish a family-friendly hotel review, a subjective evaluation is made regarding the quality, setting, and cleanliness of a property and the attitude of the property manager, marketer, and/or owner. Every property has positives and negatives and we hope our property profiles include as many features as possible for a given property. However, reviewers may miss something or misjudge certain features about a property.
Hotels included in the CB! Hotel Collection pay a commission on bookings received through our channel. Our requests go directly to our property partners for the best, most up-to-date pricing.
Property partners pay us standard industry commission for these referrals — this does not impact client rates.
Quality is critical to us and a property cannot buy their way into the Ciao Bambino portfolio. In order to keep costs down, however, we do accept media rates from properties and service providers. These discounts in no way impact the opinions expressed in our editorial. We pride ourselves on our objectivity.
Ciao Bambino does not accept liability for errors, loss, injury or inconvenience resulting from the use of the information in this guide. No warranty, express or implied, is given that the information provided on this website is error-free.
Links provided from this website to independent third party websites are done so in good faith to offer an additional value to users. Ciao Bambino is not responsible for any content held within any such websites, or for any links contained in them. The inclusion of external links does not signify any endorsement by Ciao Bambino.
In order to protect privacy and personal information, Ciao Bambino agrees that it will not loan, rent or sell to any third parties, other than the property selected by the user, any personal details that have been passed on to us without explicit prior permission (except when we believe that the law requires it, to respond to an emergency or in the event of a sale, merger or similar transaction). However, if users have registered to receive our newsletter (CB! Travelers), the e-mail address is only available to our website hosting provider and/or the company providing email distribution services for the newsletter and not forwarded to any other third parties.
Personal information provided by uses when requesting more information is shared only with the property selected by the user.
This website contains links to other websites. Ciao Bambino is not responsible for privacy policies of such websites.
Ciao Bambino collects no user information from the website except what is required for system administration, market demographics for internal use only and other enhancement of the website. Although we use reasonable efforts to maintain the privacy of your personally identifiable data and information, due to technological limitations, and the risk of unlawful interceptions and accessing of transmissions and/or data, we cannot completely assure you, and you should not expect, that your personally identifiable data and information, and any other electronically communicated information, will be absolutely confidential. Use of the Ciao Bambino website constitutes the users agreement to the terms of our privacy policy. Any changes to this policy will be posted to this page and users may be contacted as well (although Ciao Bambino is under no obligation to do so). Continued use of this website constitutes the users agreement to any such changes.
Ciao Bambino recommends that families purchase a travel protection plan to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected. Travel protection plans include coverage for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Emergency Medical and Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, Trip Delay, Baggage Delay and more.
Ciao Bambino Travel Advisors provide one-on-one expert advice and insight regarding worldwide travel destinations and experiences. The mission of our service is to help clients make informed travel decisions using vetted and reliable information customized for individual travel goals and requirements.
Fees are essential to Travel Advisor compensation. All fees are quoted based on an assessment of the time that will go into completing the scope of a project. Factors like the number of destinations for review, the length of a trip, the number of people traveling, and the number of stops on an itinerary affect the fee quoted. For projects unrelated to a specific itinerary, like destination education or long- term planning, pricing is based on an estimate of the hours required to deliver the requested information.
Project fees are paid before work begins; this payment is non-refundable and is good for six months from the payment date (an extension beyond six months, but no longer than one year, requires agency approval).
There are situations that are more time-intensive and require incremental planning fees during or after the project has begun. An example of this is when confirmations are in place and the travel dates change or when people are added into an itinerary. If these factors are known prior to planning, they will be incorporated into the fee. Otherwise, a maximum allocation of hours will be assigned to the project and any overages will be billed on a time and materials basis. Anticipated overages will be communicated as soon as they are known during the project.
Travel Advisor compensation is tied to sourcing and completing trip planning, not the successful execution of the trip. In the event a trip is cancelled before execution by the client or the supplier(s), Ciao Bambino will charge cancellation fees equal to the time it takes to cancel and/or move trips, as well as to secure any applicable refunds. There may be situations where additional administrative fees will be charged for cancellations that result in refunds; the most common instances where this is necessary are exchange rate fluctuations and bank processing fees. Your authorization will be required prior to any such action taken.
Ciao Bambino Advisors make money on planning fees plus commissions from hotels and service providers. Most commission is paid to the agency by suppliers and calculated off the retail price of the service, meaning, our clients pay the same price as they would if they sourced and booked the service directly without our assistance. There are suppliers who work on margins where commission compensation requires incremental markup of retail pricing and/or booking terms are different through us than they are through the supplier directly. We always do our best to ensure that trip pricing and terms are market competitive and balance these efforts with running a viable margin-based service business.
Planning a custom trip is very time-intensive and any shift in travel dates, destinations, or the number of people in your party after the process has started requires the Travel Advisor to start over. Once we’ve done the work to source, quote, and book travel services, that portion of the planning process is complete. If a change is required after the booking is made, we are happy to do the work again, but will charge a per-hour incremental planning fee accordingly. It is very important that we DO NOT begin the planning process until dates and destinations are 100% set.
Confirmation documents will be forwarded to clients as reservations are made and then a customized itinerary listing everything booked for clients will be sent to the client at the end of the trip planning process. Please review full names, birthdates (if applicable), and dates on all documents very carefully. You will be required to sign off on the itinerary. Once the trip has begun, any changes to the itinerary must be requested directly with the hotel or service provider. Note that Ciao Bambino is not liable for no-show or cancellation charges. We recommend that clients re-confirm meeting times/places directly with independent guides (hired directly, not set through a single tour operator) 48 hours prior to the tour date.
Based on the information provided by clients regarding budget, the ages of the children, and travel goals, the Travel Advisor will narrow down a list of qualified options.
Identifying the best family-friendly private guides and structured activities (cooking classes, bike tours, art lessons, etc.) is a big part of what we do. We book guides and structured activities for clients and these items will appear on the final itinerary.
Our standard trip planning program includes recommendations for self-guided activities. We advise regarding how to make reservations for self-guided activities, but do not book these for clients. For example, we advise how to see the Eiffel Tower without a guided tour, but we do not reserve tickets to the Eiffel Tower for an unguided visit.
Advice provided on self-guided tours is advice only – any representations made as to the safety of any tourist site is not a guarantee of safety. Client should assess the safety of any self-guided tour prior to visitation.
Travel Advisors may be able to supply a list of favorite dining establishments in a destination, but due to the changing nature of the restaurant business and timing for dining while traveling, it is best for clients to work with their hotel concierge directly for individual reservations.
Rental Cars: We book rental cars for clients on request. Clients are responsible for understanding local/international driver’s license requirements and securing documentation accordingly.
Train Tickets: We book train tickets on request. Services fees may be applicable and will be quoted before tickets are sourced/purchased.
Airfare: We don’t typically book coach airfare unless it is included in a package. We often have access to excellent premium economy and business class fare pricing and can book that for our clients. We’ll advise at the start of the process if we think we can help source compelling airfare for a trip. A service fee may be added to the ticket price for non-commissionable airfare. Clients are responsible for understanding fare cancellation policies, restrictions, and change fees.
Ferry Tickets: We recommend ferry booking resources, but we do not book tickets unless they are incorporated into a defined tour package.
The only money we collect from clients directly is for our planning fees. All other funds are paid directly to the hotel or service provider according to their policy. We collect credit card data on an authorization form and pass this information to vendors on behalf of our clients.
Some suppliers will offer a choice of wiring funds or paying for services via a credit card. If presented with this option, Ciao Bambino strongly recommends that you pay for all travel plans by credit card since credit card companies provide the best possible form of consumer protection against the loss of funds due to supplier bankruptcy.
Travel insurance covers many of the issues that might prevent a travel supplier from providing their services to you (including the potential of financial default or bankruptcy). Ciao Bambino strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance. While no travel insurance company can cover all circumstances, Ciao Bambino Advisors have relationships with highly rated travel insurance companies and can facilitate a non-binding quote on request.
Many of the best accommodations are seasonal and have very strict cancellation policies. We recommend that families purchase travel insurance to cover them against loss related to trip cancellation and interruption, especially when traveling abroad and airfare is a consequential additional expense. Travel insurance protects against loss for bookings that have penalties for cancellation and/or are non-refundable.
To maximize the protection that travel insurance offers, it is recommended that clients purchase travel insurance within 14-21 days of the first payment related to the trip. Please note that no representation or description of the insurance made by our staff constitutes a binding assurance or promise about the insurance. Please read any travel insurance policies carefully and if you have any questions, you must call the travel insurance company for clarification, since they have the final word on what is covered by a claim and what is not. Clients must file claims directly with their travel insurance provider.
Clients should ensure that all travel documents are valid well before the date of travel. Some countries require visas and/or passport validity six months or more beyond the date of travel. It is the client’s responsibility to check the CDC and State Department websites for updates on the countries they are visiting.
Ciao Bambino does not offer 24-hour travel support. If 24-hour support is communicated as a trip requirement, we will source the trip through a partner who can provide this service. The itinerary is the final deliverable in our program.
We strongly recommend that clients purchase an international data/calling plan while traveling overseas so that suppliers can reach you at all times for any travel service modifications. Only in the event of a true emergency should you call your Travel Advisor or Ciao Bambino’s toll-free number, (855) 589-8865.
Before we can start working with you on travel planning, we require that you sign this form, signifying your agreement with the following terms and conditions:
I understand that Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor are not the source or supplier of the travel services I have requested, and that Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor act as a sales agent for any hotel, car rental company, tour operator, or other service provider named in my itinerary (“Suppliers”). Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor are not responsible for acts or omissions of the Suppliers or their failure to provide services, failure to comply with any applicable law, or failure to adhere to their own schedules. Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor assume no responsibility for and shall not be liable for any refund, personal injury, property damage, or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity including but not limited to: (1) any defaults, wrongful or negligent acts, or omissions of the Suppliers; (2) any defect in or failure of any vehicle, craft, equipment, or instrumentality owned, operated, or otherwise used or provided by the Suppliers; (3) any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of any other party not under Ciao Bambino’s direct control; and (4) any Supplier price drop after your travel arrangements have been confirmed, paid in full, or ticketed. I hereby release Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor from all claims arising out of any problem covered in this paragraph.
Suppliers have their own contracts covering cancellation penalties and other terms and conditions, and you may be bound by those contracts regardless of whether you receive notice of their terms. If a Supplier does not provide the service or ceases operations, your only recourse will be against the Supplier. If a Supplier refuses to provide a refund, irrespective of their stated cancellation policies, your only recourse will be against the supplier. If a Supplier goes bankrupt, your recourse will be to file a claim with the Supplier’s bankruptcy court. California residents may be eligible for claim support from the California Consumer Restitution Corporation. Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor have no special knowledge regarding the financial condition of the Suppliers, unsafe conditions, health hazards, weather hazards, or climate extremes at locations to which I may travel. If travel plans are delayed or cancelled for any reason there will be no refunds issued by Ciao Bambino, except in those circumstances where Ciao Bambino has taken funds directly for travel services and issued its own schedule of cancellation, applicable to all or a portion of a booking (whenever such a schedule is issued, it will specifically indicate which trip component(s) it is issued for and it will apply ONLY to the specific trip component(s) indicated). Please note that a ‘trip’ or ‘booking’ often consists of multiple components, each of which may carry its own cancellation penalties (example: an airline ticket, a pre-trip hotel night, a multi-day adventure vacation by a tour operator, a post-trip extension designed by Ciao Bambino, all of which may be subject to a different set of cancellation policies). You will be provided with the individual cancellation policies to the extent that these are available in a distributable format, for your records, but Ciao Bambino is not responsible for this policy distribution. I am responsible for obtaining the applicable policies, either by contacting Ciao Bambino and requesting a copy (if available, otherwise it will be verbal delivery) or by consulting the individual suppliers and/or their catalogs. No refund(s) will be issued for cancellations due to actual or threatened terrorist events. Furthermore, there will be no refunds due to fear of travel from actual or threatened terrorist, health, political or other similar events.
I acknowledge that Ciao Bambino cannot control the cancellation fees assessed by the Tour Operators, nor control issuance of vouchers in lieu of cash. I acknowledge that Ciao Bambino cannot control other third party’s cancellation fees that may be assessed nor control issuance of vouchers in lieu of cash. I understand that should I initiate any chargeback with my credit card company to avoid previously agreed upon fees Ciao Bambino will utilize all rights and remedies under the laws of the State of Idaho to uphold previously agreed contractual provisions. I understand that Ciao Bambino does this because third parties seek payment directly from Ciao Bambino. The cancellation fees do not cease to exist in the event of a chargeback. Thus, Ciao Bambino will be prompted to pursue litigation and incur attorneys’ fees and costs which will be included in addition to all cancellation fees.
In the event of a cancellation by a third-party supplier(s), Ciao Bambino may recommend that you accept vouchers for future travel from the cancelling third-party. I, however, acknowledge that Ciao Bambino has no special knowledge of the current or future conditions of any third-party supplier and I expressly waive Ciao Bambino of any liability in the event a third-party travel supplier may file bankruptcy, cease operations, or in any way refuses to honor said vouchers.
I understand it is my responsibility to protect my purchases, and Travel Insurance is strongly recommended. I have been advised to obtain any and all coverages prior to travel tour (e.g. medical, disability, travel insurance), and I understand that I should make that purchase at the time of first deposit.
I assume complete and full responsibility for, and hereby release Ciao Bambino from, any duty of checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements of each destination, and all safety and security conditions of such destinations, during the length of the proposed travel. However, we specifically recommend that U. S. Citizens traveling internationally, including travel to Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean, do so with a valid U. S. Passport.
It is further understood and acknowledged that travel to many parts of the world may involve the risk of a variety of hazards to health and/or safety, including but not limited to disease, crime, terrorism, and warfare. Because each traveler’s risk tolerance is different, Ciao Bambino is not in a position to advise or recommend whether travel to any particular place at any particular time should take place. It is recommended that the traveler should refer to objective third-party sources of travel information (and possible dangers at destinations), such as that maintained by the U.S. Department of State (travel.state.gov).
For medical information, Ciao Bambino recommends contacting the Centers for Disease Control at (877) FYI- TRIP or www.cdc.gov/travel. Because each client’s risk tolerance is different, Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor are not in a position to advise me whether I should travel to any particular place at any particular time. Ciao Bambino advises client to seek the advice of their own doctor in regard to their physical condition and ability to partake in any travel. Ciao Bambino shall not be responsible for any injuries, losses or damages in connection with terrorist activities, criminal conduct, social or labor unrest, mechanical or structural integrity of air, sea, and ground transportation and accommodations, diseases, pandemics, local laws, terrorist acts, climatic conditions, Acts of God, delays, changes or cancellation of travel due to weather conditions, hotel services, accidents or health related problems before or while in-transit to (e.g., an accident on the way to a tour), during, and after a tour, or any other actions, omissions, or conditions outside of Ciao Bambino’s control.
I understand that the airline tickets, air tours or other products I am purchasing are subject to supplemental price increases that may be imposed after the date of purchase. Post-purchase price increases may be applied due to additional costs imposed by a supplier or government. I acknowledge that I may be charged additional sums by Ciao Bambino to offset increased fees, fuel surcharges, taxes, fluctuations in foreign exchange markets or any combination thereof.
I will review my travel documents for accuracy upon receipt and understand that I may contact my Travel Advisor if I have any questions. I understand that it is my responsibility to review the accuracy of all details in the travel quotations provided to me and to confirm the same to Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor. I understand that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and other local authorities requires me to carry a government-issued identification card in order to board a flight. I have been advised that the name, date of birth and gender that appear on the identification card must exactly match the same such data that is listed on my airline ticket and in my booking records. It is my responsibility to review all documents for accuracy and I acknowledge that my failure to strictly comply with these requirements may result in invalid tickets that need to be repurchased, denied boarding, or an undue delay at an airport security checkpoint causing me to miss my flight.
I understand that discounted fares typically involve restrictions and that changing any aspect of my travel arrangements may result in the payment of additional money and/or the forfeit of payments made in the case of cancellation. I have been advised to use a credit card as this may offer me the opportunity to dispute the charge should a vendor cease operating. I understand that travel insurance is an important part of protecting myself from financial losses related to any trips booked through Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor.
I understand that Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor charge consulting fees for their time to plan my itinerary and that these fees are non-refundable if the trip is not booked or if the trip is cancelled, and that additional fees may be due for work required to process cancellations and/or to rebook itineraries. I understand that Ciao Bambino and my Travel Advisor need to be compensated for all time spent on my travel planning.
The laws of the State of Idaho govern the rights and obligations of the parties to this Agreement and the interpretation, construction and enforceability thereof. I agree that any action or proceeding brought by me shall be brought solely in the courts of Idaho located in Blaine County. In the event any action or proceeding is initiated by me in a court outside of Blaine County, Idaho, I agree to pay Ciao Bambino’s costs and reasonable attorney fees associated with defending such action or proceeding.
If a dispute arises out of or relates to this contract, or breach thereof, and if the dispute cannot be settled through negotiation, the parties agree first to try in good faith to settle the dispute by mediation administered by the World Travel Dispute Center under the applicable guidelines as established by International Forum for Travel and Tourism (IFTTA) before resorting to litigation, or some other mutually agreed upon dispute resolution procedure. If litigation is necessary to enforce this agreement, the prevailing party(s) shall receive costs and attorney’s fees. In the event that an IFTTA qualified mediator is unavailable, both parties agree to the submission of the dispute to a mutually acceptable dispute resolution service.
Ciao Bambino is committed to protecting your private data. See our data policies above for complete information.
We collect and store full credit card information (including CVV code) securely to pass to trip fulfillment suppliers. This information is securely stored to use for active trip planning. Once a trip plan is complete, you may authorize us to continue to store this information so that you don’t have to resend it again for the future planning. If you would prefer us to destroy the data, please let us know.
This Agreement embodies the entire, final and complete agreement and understanding between the undersigned and Ciao Bambino! and replaces and supersedes all prior discussions and agreements between them with respect to its subject matter. No modification or waiver of any terms or conditions hereof shall be effective unless made in writing and signed by both parties.
I requested that CIAO BAMBINO! (“Agency”) make one or more travel bookings on my behalf. As the worldwide COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic remains ongoing at the time, I acknowledge that for this reason, and other reasons not reasonably foreseeable at this time, these travel plans may be interrupted or cancelled by the supplier that is providing them, a government entity, or other third-party over which Agency has no control. I further acknowledge that the supplier’s own cancellation, rebooking and refund policies, subject to any applicable law that is nor or may later be in effect, will govern my rights and remedies, including my right to receive a refund, in such an event. In the event of a cancellation by a third-party supplier(s), I may be offered and/or accept vouchers for future travel from the cancelling third-party. I acknowledge that the Agency and my Travel Advisor have no special knowledge of the current or future conditions of any third-party supplier and client expressly waives the Agency and my Travel Advisor of any liability in the event a third-party travel supplier may file bankruptcy, cease operations, or in any way refuses to honor said vouchers.
Moreover, I understand that should I elect/have elected to purchase travel insurance, the terms of the policy will dictate whether, and to what extent, coverage for any financial loss may exist under the circumstances. I hereby agree to hold Agency and my Travel Advisor harmless and release it from any and all liability for any damages, including but not limited to monetary losses, I may incur as a result of such interruption or cancellation of these travel plans. In addition, by signing below, I agree to hold harmless Agency and my Travel Advisor for any damages, including but not limited to death or injury due to illness, monetary loss, or any other harm. I acknowledge I will not hold Agency and my Travel Advisor responsible for injury resulting from or arising out of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic or any other, related or non-related, pandemics or widespread Diseases.
