Amid a forest of New York City skyscrapers, a sinuous glass tower rises from an austere monolith of matte black stone — a dramatic architectural flourish that announces your arrival at Pendry Manhattan West. As the urban luxury lifestyle offshoot of Montage Hotels & Resorts, Pendry marries its parent company’s impeccable pedigree with a fresh, design-forward point of view. Just the second Pendry to open on the East Coast (joining its sister property in Baltimore), the hotel carries a subtle hint of its California roots: stylish without tipping into pretense; chill without losing its edge. Yet it’s fully attuned to the city’s nonstop rhythm, and it feels authentically and unmistakably New York.

Integrated with the massive Hudson Yards mixed-use development on Midtown’s West Side, Pendry Manhattan West puts you at the heart of one of the buzziest districts in town, walk-out to an incredible array of shopping and dining. You are a block from the High Line and two from Madison Square Garden — perfect if you’re here for a concert, a Knicks basketball game or another big event. Next door to the arena sits Penn Station/Moynihan Train Hall, a major hub for New York subway lines as well as Amtrak connections to cities like Boston and Philadelphia. Plus, the Empire State Building, Times Square and iconic Broadway theaters are all 20 to 25 minutes’ walk away.

I spent a couple of nights at the hotel with my college-age son on a city break in early January, and the blazing fire and cozy sitting area in the lobby were a pitch-perfect welcome as we came in from the cold drizzle outside. A sense of stylish sanctuary carries through the entire hotel — soft neutrals, warm woods, tactile stone surfaces and spare ornamentation combine for a Zen-meets-mod vibe that offsets the whirlwind of urban energy beyond the doors.
Service throughout our stay was unfailingly cheerful and accommodating. The housekeeping staff promptly brought a mini-fridge to our room when we needed to store lunch leftovers; upon noticing that my son had bought some vinyl albums while we were out and about, the manager kindly offered to send up a turntable. Luxury means different things to different guests, and while I love fine linens and bespoke treats as much as the next person, personal gestures like this are what really define it for me.

The 164 rooms and suites at Pendry Manhattan West envelop you in calm sophistication. Outfitted in sleek, natural style with open-grain woodwork and a restrained color palette, each space features floor-to-ceiling windows with excellent soundproofing that absorbs any trace of street noise below. Platform beds, sculptural tables, plush tub chairs and low-slung velvet sofas create a streamlined yet comfortable aesthetic, while smartly integrated storage with a shallow footprint preserves maximum floor space.

Marble-clad bathrooms at all levels include walk-in showers; suites have standalone soaking tubs as well, which we very much appreciated after a chilly day of pounding the pavement. Standout in-room conveniences include TVs with Chromecast for streaming from your devices and (on request) Bluetooth-enabled speakers so you can cue up the music that suits your mood. And details like well-stocked minibars, Nespresso machines and plush robes underscore the feel of an indulgent retreat.
Every stay should feel special, and we’ll pair you with a dedicated Travel Advisor who can pass along insider perks like complimentary breakfast and room upgrades, all while handling every detail behind the scenes. Click to send us a request!

Categories range from King and Double-Double rooms with city or skyline views to multiple one- and two-bedroom suite configurations, with connecting options available for families and larger groups. If you’re up for a splurge, the crown jewel is the 21st-floor Pendry Suite: a two-bedroom corner residence decked out with a full living area, entertainment system, curated record collection, acoustic guitar, fireplace and dining table for eight. The kitchenette includes an island, refrigerator, oven and bar, while two marble bathrooms offer double vanities. While it sleeps a maximum of three guests, it connects to a Skyline King Room for additional flexibility.

Whether you’re fueling up the kids for a day of sightseeing or stealing an adults-only cocktail hour, Pendry Manhattan West’s dining venues take you from casual to sophisticated as the day moves along. Daily breakfast is served in the fourth-floor Vista Lounge, where wide picture windows overlook the Hudson Yards bustle below. The menu features all the usual favorites alongside quintessentially New York items like a Brooklyn bagel platter with smoked salmon from upstate and decadent babka French toast. Even the simplest selections, like my yogurt and fruit parfait, arrived at our table looking like works of edible art.

The flagship restaurant, Zou Zou’s, draws inspiration from the eastern Mediterranean (think Lebanon, Türkiye, Jordan) in both its gorgeous design and flavor-bending menu. Dark woods, creamy walls and watery blue-green tiles create an atmospheric space punctuated by that region’s hallmark arches and domes. Serving lunch and dinner daily plus weekend brunch, Zou Zou’s showcases starters like whipped ricotta with saffron apricots, gooey Kasseri cheese with Lebanese focaccia, and lamb tartare with bulgur and mint. If you’ve worked up a heartier appetite, try the Moroccan fried chicken for two or sea bass wrapped in grape leaves and doused with tomato vinaigrette.

Sultry, dimly lit Bar Pendry offers an adults-only respite for guests on a couples’ getaway or stealing a few moments of parent time, with creative cocktails served beneath an outrageous swirling mural inlaid with gold leaf and mother-of-pearl. Want a more laid-back atmosphere? The Garden Room off the lobby (filled with plants that inspired the name) provides an early evening menu of small bites and snacks alongside tea, coffee and cocktails.

If strolling Manhattan’s streets doesn’t quite get you to your step goal, Pendry Manhattan West makes it easy to stay on track. The hotel’s 1,700-square-foot fitness center is open 24/7 and outfitted with Technogym equipment and Peloton bikes. An adjoining Movement Studio offers an intimate setting for stretching, yoga and personal training sessions. While there’s no onsite spa, the concierge can arrange appointments at nearby wellness partners upon request. Prefer to work out in private? A Peloton can even be set up in your room.
Families with little ones will appreciate the Stay & Stroll Program in partnership with UPPAbaby®, which provides complimentary use of a playard and/or travel stroller throughout your stay (translation: one less thing to lug through the airport).
You’ll also find a small retail boutique with a well-edited collection of lifestyle essentials, from luxe bed and bath products to branded apparel. Shop exclusive Pendry bath amenities, Pacific Dream bedding and collaborations with BOEN, Stance, Heidi Merrick and more, including hoodies, tees, ball caps, socks and beyond … the perfect way to bring a little piece of the Pendry experience home.
