There’s ski out and then there’s The Osprey. Located in Beaver Creek village, The Osprey is closer to a ski lift than any other hotel in North America. Despite knowing this fact before arrival, we still giggled when we realized the short distance required to start skiing for the day.
The excellent position is a huge perk, but there are many more reasons to love this hotel owned by RockResorts. The comfortable atmosphere, high-quality rooms, and exceptional service are the icing on the cake.
The lobby and the bar are the focal point of the main floor of The Osprey and both are set up for all-day lounging. The home-away-from home vibe of this modern, boutique hotel with only 45 rooms makes it comfortable for travelers of every age. You could sit here all day playing games with your kids and nobody would blink an eye.
The service matches the atmosphere perfectly. The staff is set on ensuring everyone has what they need, from fitting ski boots on kids in the morning, to prepping cocktails for après-ski. There are few standard set up hotels (versus condos) that are appealing for week-long stays, but this is certainly one of them.
Rooms feature modern furnishings, plush fabric and warm tones. Families can fit into a Lodge Room with two queen beds, connecting rooms, or the two-bedroom Penthouse which includes a full kitchen.
All rooms have a gas fireplace, TV and DVD player, and an iPod docking station.
Families always appreciate year-round outdoor heated pools and The Osprey has one. There’s also a small fitness center with a steam room and sauna.
There is a ski valet to go with their premium ski-in/ski-out location. The value of this resource? Priceless! It is decadent to ski to your hotel door and hand someone your skis and boots with zero logistics.
The bar and lounge serves breakfast and a tapas-style menu for dinner. We didn’t get a chance to have dinner here, but breakfast is fresh and includes fruit, eggs, fresh bread, pastries, and cereal.
The concierge at The Osprey can help with everything from organizing meals out to special activities like snowmobiling tours. The hotel also offers a free shuttle into town for guests (on request).
Part of what I love about Beaver Creek Resort is the plethora of service-oriented and upscale restaurants, shops, and accommodations. The Osprey is a great example of a boutique hotel done right that caters to everyone who steps in their door.
It’s not too late to head to The Osprey this season! Every year they offer a spring break package with around a 35% savings.
