The prime location is not the only reason families love Trump International Hotel & Tower. This five-star property is surprisingly child-friendly. Case in point: The indoor pool at the spa even has a lifeguard.
Trump Hotel Central Park Kid-Friendly Review
The Trump Hotel Central Park’s 52-story property offers 176 luxurious guest rooms and suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows designed to frame the spectacular views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. A huge draw for families is that the suites are equipped with European-style kitchens with Sub-Zero appliances. We stayed in a newly renovated suite. These suites are quite large for New York standards, and in true Trump style, feature elegant Schonbek crystal chandeliers over the dining room table.
The fabulous Trump Attaché contacts guests prior to arrival to prepare an array of customized amenities. Fans of “The Apprentice” will appreciate the personalized kids’ stationary and business cards!
If kids need downtime after sightseeing, guests can have a Wii game station set up in the room or ask for the movie amenity, which includes a voucher to watch a movie plus candy and popcorn. Kids can wear their Trump Kids robes and slippers and take the private spa elevator to the beautiful indoor pool.
The concierge will stock the in-room refrigerator prior to arrival on request, or provide take-out menus from several local restaurants that deliver.
No one gets left out at the Trump. The property is pet-friendly, and even pooches receive welcome amenities on arrival.
Kids in the Kitchen
Trump Hotel has partnered with Williams-Sonoma to offer a special Kids in the Kitchen baking room package. Guests who book Kids in the Kitchen will receive everything they need to enjoy a hands-on experience in the comfort of their suite including a basket with parent and child aprons, cookie cutters, cookie mix and a Williams-Sonoma Kids Cookbook.
Guests will be hard-pressed to find a more convenient location anywhere else in the city. Families can walk out the door to Central Park — what a fabulous “backyard” to explore!
The property is a close walk to 5th Avenue and families don’t even have to cross the street to get on the subway. The Trump is also steps away from The Shops at Columbus Circle, located in the Time Warner Building. This is a beautiful urban mall with wonderful shops and restaurants. Families can head to the cafe at the Whole Market or grab picnic supplies and head to the park.
The Trump hotel is home to Jean-Georges, the famed Michelin-star restaurant from iconic chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The concierge can arrange babysitting if parents want to enjoy an extraordinary dining experience. For families with little gourmands, room service is also provided by Jean-Georges.
The biggest decision guests will have to make is where to eat, as there are so many terrific family friendly options nearby. My kids’ favorite is Landmarc in the Time Warner Center because they offer homemade cotton candy for dessert in a different flavor every day. The popular Bouchon Bakery in the Time Warner Center is another family favorite.
