Photo Friday: The Extraordinary Details of The Breakers

We have quite a few extraordinary hotels featured on Ciao Bambino and I’ve been lucky enough to stay at a large number of them. We checked into The Breakers last night and I have to say, I’m thoroughly wowed by this historic hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.

I’ll write a full report later. In the meantime, I have a few fun Photo Friday moments to share.

Exhibit A is the dark chocolate replica of the the iconic Breakers building complete with edible sand waiting in our room at check-in.

The details are outrageous. Check out the tuxedo-decorated strawberries.

Exhibit B is the flowers in the lobby. The arrangement is so massive and beautiful that we were all certain they were fake. Everyone that walks in the door touches them and then takes a photo. They are real. Incredible.

The old world design and decor at The Breakers is fantastic and transports you to another age. The ceiling of the breakfast room is covered with frescos. My now-7-year-old, Devon, was transfixed for five full minutes and then announced, “Mom, see that woman there, her bra is falling off.  Why?” Priceless.

I love your son’s thoughts on the frescos, children are amazing!
