I’m going to admit that I’m torn when it comes to my preference for which “bank” is my favorite home-base in Paris with kids. The Right Bank is grand and home to many of the major tourist attractions, while the Left Bank is full of personality and wonderful neighborhoods.
Lobby lounge with an honor bar sets the home-away-from-home ambiance
The beauty of CB! Approved Relais Christine is that you don’t have to choose. It’s on the Left Bank in the heart of the coveted Saint-Germain-des-Prés, an area brimming with history, incredible boutique shopping, and kid-friendly cafes, yet located only a block from the Seine River and the Pont Neuf bridge leading to the Right Bank.
This 51-room boutique hotel is tucked away from the urban bustle of Paris on a small, quiet street. Relais Christine is intimate with personalized service. It’s one of those hotels where you get to know the staff at the front desk and they in turn, make relevant recommendations versus listing the same options for every guest. The tone is more akin to a luxurious guest house than a Parisian hotel. The lobby lounge has an honor bar and is the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing.
Garden Suite private terrace
There’s even a Garden Suite that opens up to a delightful little private terrace and grassy area. Families need to know that rooms are on the small side and there are limited configurations that can accommodate multiple children.
Like all luxurious things in Paris, peak season here is expensive and difficult to book. You pay a premium for the marvelous location. Well worth if warm ambiance, personalized service, luxurious rooms, and an unbelievable, convenient location is what you seek in Paris.
