We were lucky enough to escape to Bora Bora sans offspring a few years ago. Tahiti is a tropical fairytale with bright blue water, lush forests, fantastic flowers, and exotic local culture.
We stayed at the Bora Bora Nui Resort in an over-the-water bungalow. We enjoyed it, although, I can’t say the resort itself was as memorable as the overall scenery, i.e. you could stay just about anywhere here and be wowed.
There’s nothing quite like watching sunset from a perch over the water. Talk about an unobstructed view!
It’s not that I wouldn’t bring kids to Tahiti as it’s actually surprisingly easy to access for US residents with direct flights (8 hours) from Los Angeles. But there are certain places that are pure magic for connecting as a couple. This is one of them. With few distractions and no reminders of urban life, decompressing is effortless here. No electronics allowed.

Wow, Bora Bora looks so beautiful. I really want to go. Is there much to do if you are going single though?
It looks like a beautiful place, and it’s so great that you were able to get away as a couple! 🙂
Gorgeous shots! This is one place I want to go to! I don’t think I’ve seen a single photo of Bora Bora where the water does not look wonderfully blue!
