CB! Approved Hotels and Resorts

Hotel Ranga is one of the few 4-star properties in Iceland and a gem on the South Coast. Its lodge-like setting is rustic but elegant, with furnishings from around Iceland and the world. Rooms are comfortable and suites are spacious and eclectic, with each suite having a unique theme. Deluxe rooms feature pullout sofas that may accommodate some small families, and a rollaway bed can be added to some suites. Dining at Hotel Ranga is top-notch, with an adventurous menu featuring local ingredients. The chef is very careful about catering to dietary restrictions and allergies, and the property does offer a children’s menu.

The hotel is perfectly located for viewing the Northern Lights when they decide to make an appearance. Hotel Ranga has its own observatory with powerful telescopes and binoculars for stargazing. On clear, dark nights, a local astronomer leads stargazing programs. If the Northern Lights make an appearance during the night, you can opt to be woken up to enjoy them. There are also three outdoor hot tubs onsite for relaxing after a busy day. For indoor fun, families can enjoy the game room with a full-size pool table and a variety of board games to borrow. Adults will enjoy cocktails at the upstairs or downstairs lounges.
