Community Recommended Hotels and Resorts

Like being set inside an Irish novel, visiting Ballyfin will blow your mind. It’s so far and above anything I’ve ever experienced anywhere. To call it a hotel is not adequate. The staff are like long-lost family, welcoming you home to rooms filled with art, antiques, books and stories of this former school-turned-luxury hotel. The food is divine, and scones and afternoon tea in the conservatory are addictive. The bedrooms are sumptuous, styled in a way that feels like a manor house but with all the modern touches you’d expect from a luxury property. Nothing is spared in terms of luxury and comfort. Half the fun is wandering the expansive estate, which teens will love. The worst thing about Ballyfin is having to say goodbye, wondering when you can return again to this magnificent corner of Ireland.
