I was in teaching and corporate sales. I taught high school Spanish and later ESL at Seoul National University. In between teaching, I was a National Account Executive selling office equipment to domestic and international clients. Currently, and over the past 14 years, I have taught yoga and led yoga retreats in Italy, Greece, Spain and Germany. I am also a mom of three girls and a military spouse. My love of teaching, working with people, and helping them achieve their goals combined with my love of travel made for a great transition to Ciao Bambino.
My love of travel started in college when I studied abroad in Ecuador and later in Spain. Meeting my husband and moving around via the military further spurred my affinity for travel and new adventures as it allowed us to live all around the world, including Alaska, South Korea and now in Germany, where we have lived the last 9 years. My travels have been so wonderfully diverse; it is difficult to pick favorites. However, some of my best-loved active trips were, biking the Camino de Santiago with my sister and father, rafting the Kenai River in Alaska watching the grizzlies, and swimming to the island in Lake Bled, Slovenia with my girls. Other memorable travel moments were watching a woman become so moved she burst into song (a saeta) during the Semana Santa celebrations in Seville, walking on the Great Wall of China, and delighting in soothing acoustic guitar on the Piazza Signoria in Florence. Lastly, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention some amazing travels that brought me closer to nature and wildlife, like hugging an orangutan in Singapore and exploring the Amazon rainforest. But truly, the most meaningful travel experiences have been creating incredible memories with my family, and watching my daughters learn about the world and all its beautiful diversity as they grow into young women.
The opportunity to unite families with travel adventures which allow them to create lasting memories is so fulfilling. I enjoy putting ease back into creating trips with children or relatives, of all ages, allowing families to enjoy the process as well as the actual travel. I have cherished the gift of traveling with my immediate and extended family and love bringing similar experiences to other families, so they may create treasured memories of their own.
