A 200-acre estate in southwest Ireland just outside Skibbereen town, Liss Ard Estate offers Liss Ard Country House, Garden Mews and the Lake Lodge. During summer months and school holidays, the children’s club is in action, with outdoor activities, sports, and treasure hunts. Indoor activities include arts and crafts, baking/cooking, and indoor sports. A library of books and board games is also on hand. All food is locally sourced and follows many “slow food” principles. Within the estate is a 50-acre lake for fishing or kayaking, as well as the amazing Ireland Sky Garden Crater. Guest rooms are spacious and wonderfully decorated. The Lake Lodge can be taken as a self-catering property, with 10 guest rooms, a lounge, a dining room, a kitchen and a conservatory. Bicycles are available for all to borrow; Wellingtons, coats and torches are at the ready to guide guests around this magical estate day or night.
