I’ve spent the last 22 years leading marketing and public relations campaigns for online travel, hotels, consumer technology startups and large companies. With a preteen and a teen of my own, I know how fleeting time is with our families and there is nothing I’m more passionate about than family travel. Eleven years ago, I followed my passion to inspire parents to take more time out for travel by launching my blog, Hip Travel Mama. I produce travel segments for broadcast media and share tips and experiences on social media to inspire the well-traveled family.
Growing up in the Northwest, my passion for flying and travel started as a young child on takeoffs and landings with my dad, who was a small-plane pilot. Today, living in Seattle, the dark days of winter have turned our family into sun chasers. Hawaii, specifically Maui, is just a quick jaunt from the West Coast and will always feel like a second, sunnier home for us. Navigating the canals and meandering streets of Venice and eating our way across Italy to Florence and Rome was a special trip for us, and rafting the warm hot springs in the Arenal rainforest of Costa Rica was also incredible. You can likely find us anywhere with sun and great food. As with your own family, our schedules are hectic and the older the kids get the harder it is to carve out this special family time. We aim for one big international trip a year, hit a new destination for school breaks and squeeze in smaller trips every chance we get.
In today’s modern, always on and connected world, the work of inspiring families to unplug, connect in real life, and learn about other cultures and perspectives is more critical than ever. Travel allows us to get off our phones and step outside our comfort zones to see the world from a different point of view. We only get 18 precious years with our kids under our own roof, and my work with Ciao Bambino allows me to empower families to make the most of their time together, deepen family connections and raise more compassionate, culturally aware kids with no regrets. This team of confident, well-traveled women and moms are some of the best in the business. I truly believe this group has the power to change the world, one traveling family at a time.

This is a challenging time for our clients given the uncertainty around the spread of coronavirus, particularly for those with near-term travel plans in impacted areas. We’re working with our suppliers on being flexible with their booking conditions, and enabling families to postpone travel to a later date without a penalty, when possible. Likewise, given the unpredictability around destinations that may be impacted in the future, we’re helping clients planning new trips and understand ways that they can protect themselves until the situation improves. We are ready to help our clients work through questions and concerns.
