This picture was taken at Shipwreck Beach on the island of Lanai in Hawaii. We had rented a jeep for the day and decided to drive out in search of this beach we heard was gorgeous. We grabbed some sand toys and walked to a secluded part of the beach that had amazing views of the shipwreck and surrounding mountains.
I love this picture because it reminds me of how easily kids can be entertained and how easy it is to slow down and enjoy the moment if you let yourself.

This is a challenging time for our clients given the uncertainty around the spread of coronavirus, particularly for those with near-term travel plans in impacted areas. We’re working with our suppliers on being flexible with their booking conditions, and enabling families to postpone travel to a later date without a penalty, when possible. Likewise, given the unpredictability around destinations that may be impacted in the future, we’re helping clients planning new trips and understand ways that they can protect themselves until the situation improves. We are ready to help our clients work through questions and concerns.
Our offices are closed for the holiday. We will respond to your request on Monday, November 28th. If you are a Ciao Bambino client experiencing an emergency while traveling, please leave a voicemail on

You have certainly captured the essence of Hawaii! The blue sky is so fantastically blue! What a beautiful picture!
Hi Meg-
We only stayed 2 nights because we were meeting up with family in Maui but if you stayed at a hotel with kid-friendly amenities and just want to relax, 5-7 nights would be fine.
Looks like a great day to me! I like the mostly deserted beaches where you can walk for miles and take photos to your heart’s content 🙂
I’ve never been to Lanai (just Oahu and Maui), but we were just talking about planning a Hawaiian adventure in 2009. Perhaps Shipwreck Beach is the place to go! Ciao!
It looks so peaceful and quiet there. A great kid beach too. How many days should a new visitor spend on Lanai?
