CB! Approved Hotels and Resorts

The LUX* Grand Gaube is on Mauritius’s quieter, less developed north coast and exudes the chilled-out vibe that seems to be unique to this part of the island. Small clusters of neat and airy hotel rooms overlook the three calm bays around which the resort is built. There are three swimming pools, but the sea is so warm and shallow, even quite far out, that swimming amongst the tropical fishes is just as appealing from one of the three onsite beaches. From the main buffet-style restaurant to the seafood establishment on the beach and the ice-cream shop in the gardens, the food is top-notch. If you’re lucky, you might chance upon the pop-up cocktail bar. The spa is fantastic too. The all-inclusive water sports on offer could keep active types busy from dawn till dusk, and there is also tennis, cycling, yoga, and golf. Kids love the well-organized kids’ club, with activities through the night tailored for different ages. Daily programs are available for adults and children, including themed evening entertainment.
