Community Recommended Hotels and Resorts

Mas de Thau, comprised of five beautiful cottages on a vineyard, is the creation of French owners Maryse and Yvan. They are natural hosts — nothing is too much to ask and their willingness to please is genuine. Sunday dinners are a warm affair where local chefs come and cook delicious meals while guests mingle and drink family-made wine. The domaine is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and good wine is plentiful and quite inexpensive. The cottages are tastefully designed with a modern, contemporary flair and are perfect for families. The resort includes multiple swimming pools and the kids’ club offers pint-size activities. There is a communal bar area and a shop that stocks local products. The beauty of Mas de Thau is that, although it is set on an enormous estate, the property manages to feel very intimate; there is a social atmosphere, but space that allows privacy too. The surrounding Languedoc-Rousillon area is stunning, with harbor towns that offer lovely restaurants and markets. There are also so many activities close by for children, making it difficult to choose whether to spend lazy afternoons by the pool or explore the area.
