It’s amazing how many families choose not to travel because they fear getting there and back will be a nightmare. Believe me, I get it. When our son was a toddler he never slept on planes, irrespective of the length of the ride. These flights were exhausting as there were never moments of downtime.
Entertaining kids on planes is half the battle. The Condé Nast Traveler Family Travel Expert Panel convened last week to put together their list of top tips for transportation survival. Must-read insight from parents who’ve been there.

This is a challenging time for our clients given the uncertainty around the spread of coronavirus, particularly for those with near-term travel plans in impacted areas. We’re working with our suppliers on being flexible with their booking conditions, and enabling families to postpone travel to a later date without a penalty, when possible. Likewise, given the unpredictability around destinations that may be impacted in the future, we’re helping clients planning new trips and understand ways that they can protect themselves until the situation improves. We are ready to help our clients work through questions and concerns.
Our offices are closed for the holiday. We will respond to your request on Monday, November 28th. If you are a Ciao Bambino client experiencing an emergency while traveling, please leave a voicemail on

My husband and I are going to Italy and Spain in December with our two daughters (age 15, and 7). We plan on 10 days in Italy. 4 nights will be in Rome, 2 nights in Florence and the rest in Venice. We are wondering what is the best transportation to take within Italy. We all will have a suitcase each and a backpack.
Sorry Jacqueline, I missed this! Since you are staying in all cities, the train is the best option for getting around the country. There are fast options between the large cities. Have fun! -Amie
