Read. Read. Read!
This is one of my best family travel tips, and why we’ve put together a list of pre-trip reading for your families. Whether you are two or 52, learning more about a destination will enhance your travel experience. When you arrive with an understanding of geography, culture and history — everything from the sights to the food is more interesting.
Books are a great way to get kids excited about an upcoming trip too and they make wonderful mementos after a trip ends. On most of the lists I’ve included an adult-oriented book for parents. I’ve also included a few exceptional guidebooks; I like guidebooks that offer opinions as they help us prioritize and streamline sightseeing.
I’ve organized the book list by location below. Enjoy!
