My name is Stella Soldani and I have been a tour guide in Siena and its region since the year 2000; I’m also the mother of two kids. I love the art and traditions of my medieval town and I understand the interests and curiosities of young children and teenagers. Siena and the surrounding region offers many wonderful opportunities for families.
My tours involve children, parents and grandparents alike. We will look for the colors of Siena in art and nature — from animal sounds to the smells from our restaurants, to exploring shops and museums, climbing towers, and walking through the medieval streets of the Guilds of the Palio Horse Race. We may even follow the steps of James Bond movie Quantum of Solace. My tours sometimes end in an ancient garden where will enjoy Tuscan food prepared with organic vegetables and herbs. Or in the afternoon, we may choose to move our treasure hunt to San Gimignano, the Chianti region, Pienza, Montalcino, join a cooking class to prepare Tuscan cakes, or to learn how to paint an actual fresco!
“You can’t have a better, more informative, more fun experience in Italy than you will have with Stella. I have been on Siena tours with her with large and small groups, with all adults and also with children. She is brilliant at knowing exactly how to aim her tour in order to maximize the experience for her group. She intuits what will work best and always delivers with intelligence, humor, charm and kindness. I can’t recommend her highly enough!” Nancy L. Tucson, Arizona.
“I highly recommend the tour my family and I took with the delightful Stella Soldani. Stella’s attention to detail and enthusiasm for the history, interesting facts and stories delighted adults and children alike. Stella is fun, engaging, and very knowledgeable. We still talk about our afternoon with Stella every time we think of Tuscany.” Helen L. Wokingham, Berkshire
