Postcard from Kenya: Breakfast with Giraffes at Giraffe Manor Hotel

Just a typical morning … sharing breakfast with giraffes

Our CB! Family Vacation Consultants advise clients to kick off family trips with a big sight, and the boutique Giraffe Manor hotel in Kenya certainly fits the bill. After the long flight to Nairobi, the starting point for our recent African safari, our kids’ jaws dropped when we pulled in. It was afternoon teatime, and guests were sitting on the terrace with giraffes meandering around the lawn. Part of the Safari Collection, Giraffe Manor is located on 12 acres within the 140-acre AFEW Giraffe Centre and Sanctuary, home to many endangered Rothschild giraffes.

After a safety briefing from the hotel manager, the girls were soon feeding, hugging and kissing the lovable creatures, and they couldn’t wait to have breakfast with them the next morning. The giraffes make themselves right at home, poking their heads through the windows in search of a treat.

When they saw this pic, our Facebook friends back home were glued to our posts for the rest of our trip. Christmas card for 2016 — check!
