Four Seasons Hotel Dublin Family-Friendly Review | Ciao Bambino!

Irish Hospitality and Elegance at Four Seasons Hotel Dublin

From the moment we walked into Four Seasons Hotel Dublin, we knew it was a place for families. The children were instantly greeted by the friendly concierge and offered a seat in the grand lobby while I checked in. The refreshments and coloring paper and crayons were a nice touch, but it was the treasure box filled with golden chocolate coins that sold them.

Dublin is known for its welcoming nature. Without the posh, big-city glamour of other European capitals, it doesn’t get nearly the credit it deserves. With a history that has transcended so many struggles, Dublin has found its way to shine and Four Seasons, with its hospitality and historical feel, embodies this beautifully.

Four Seasons Hotel Dublin Family-Friendly Review

Location

Set away from the noise and crowds of the city center, Four Seasons Hotel Dublin is located in the area of Ballsbridge, just minutes away from shopping and local attractions, and just a stroll away from Ireland’s coast. Surrounded by embassies and beautifully manicured historic homes, the area is a tranquil and authentic way for travelers to experience Dublin. Dublin Castle, Grafton Street shopping, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Wicklow Mountains are all easily reached from the hotel.

Amenities

The naturally lit indoor pool and jacuzzi area is a perfect reprieve for the children on those cool Ireland days. The area includes a heated whirlpool, private garden patio and state-of-the-art fitness center.

Four Seasons is the only hotel spa in Dublin to offer separate men’s and women’s saunas and steam rooms. Voted best in Ireland, the spa offers a beautiful sanctuary for treatments and massage. There is an onsite laundry facility and babysitting service is available upon request for a charge. Airport transfer and transportation into the city center are also offered.

Guest Rooms

The spacious and comfortable room was ideal for myself and my three children. In the room is an open living space with a sofa bed, a writing desk, a kitchenette with a microwave, and plenty of room for the children to play without feeling confined. The luxurious linens include down duvets and pillows (hypoallergenic pillows are available on request). The marble-covered en suite bathroom is elegantly designed and quite spacious.

We were greeted by a lovely welcome with fresh flowers, and popcorn and soft drinks for the children. Housekeeping comes in twice a day, so the room always feels refreshed. There are plenty of channels to choose from on the satellite television and the microwave comes in handy when the kids want to heat up their leftovers from the evening’s meal.

Dining

There are plenty of options when it comes to dining at Four Seasons Dublin. The breakfast buffet is in the Reading Room and offers a plethora of choices to satisfy the adults and the more discerning tastes of the children. Be sure not to miss out on the Sunday brunch.

For a more formal dining experience, lunch and dinner are also held in the Reading Room, with a classically elegant atmosphere looking over the garden courtyard. The menu boasts typical Irish cuisine using fresh and local produce and locally sourced meats. The beetroot-cured salmon is a must-try! Each week, chef Alberto Rossi introduces a new menu to experience.

The lobby lounge offers a more casual dining experience for lunch or dinner with a beautiful view of the garden. Weather permitting, guests can dine al fresco on the terrace. Children’s menus are available for all meals. Picnic baskets are also available for day trips. A television and snack menu is offered all day along with the in-house movie program.

It’s easy to be drawn into the history and welcoming hospitality of the people of Dublin. It’s a big enough city to offer all you need, but it still holds that small-town charm. Dubliners are intensly proud of their city and it shows. The staff at Four Seasons Dublin go out of their way at every step to make your visit one to remember.
